Delete your disc.io account
Playing offline never needs an account. The first time you play online (ONLINE DUEL and the rankings), the game makes an online account for you, with no name, email address or password. You can delete it at any time, in the game or by email. You don't need to install the game again to ask.
In the game
- Open SETTINGS › PRIVACY.
- Tap DELETE ACCOUNT and confirm. The button shows once your device has an online account.
- If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm once more, so the game can also end Sign in with Apple for disc.io.
The account is deleted straight away, and the game starts again as a new guest on that device. Without a connection, the deletion waits and runs the next time the game connects.
Without the game: ask by email
Email partners@areyoufaster.com with the subject Delete my disc.io account, and tell us:
- your player name: the name the game showed you in ONLINE DUEL ("Signed in as …"), on the rankings and on your share cards, for example SwiftComet27;
- roughly when you started playing online, and when you last played (the month is enough).
Your player name leads us to your account. Other players can see that name, so the dates are how we check that the account is yours before we delete it. We then delete everything listed below, as the game would, and reply to confirm, within one month (usually within a week). If no account matches, we tell you. If you signed in with Apple, the same email works; you can also end Sign in with Apple for disc.io yourself in your iPhone's Settings, under your name.
What deleting your account removes
- Your online account: your Firebase sign-in and, if you signed in with Apple, its link to your Apple Account.
- Everything the online service keeps for it: your results, experience and level, statistics and skill rating, your ranking and leaderboard places, your recent matches, your record against each opponent, the players you blocked, your purchases record (so a purchase can be restored on a new account), your cloud save, and your Unity player.
- When you delete in the game, also everything the game keeps on that device (your settings go back to their defaults), and, if GAMEPLAY STATS was on, a request to Unity Analytics to delete what that device sent (Unity does this within 7 days).
What stays, and for how long
- Match records keep the two players' random IDs for 8 days after a match, then they're deleted. Once your account is deleted, your ID no longer leads to any account.
- Reports and review flags are deleted after 90 days. The service's health counts hold no player IDs.
- Other players' own records keep your player name beside their recent matches with you, and a one-way code made from your player ID in their record against each opponent, until their lists move on (their newest 20 matches, their 30 most recent opponents and any they mark as favourites) or they delete their own account.
- Gameplay statistics (only if you switched them on) and crash diagnostics are linked to a random ID for the install, which only the game on that device knows, so an email request can't reach them. Unity deletes the diagnostics after 90 days and the detailed statistics after 13 months, and keeps a summary of each install for its dashboards until it's deleted.
- Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play stay in Apple's or Google's own records. Deleting your disc.io account doesn't refund or cancel them.
